The Swine-O-Mite BBQ Team was born in 2003, although many of us have been cooking, eating, and drinking on the circuit for quite a bit longer. We are based in Memphis, TN, and compete in 3-4 major contests per year around the Memphis area.
Our name and logo are a spin-off of the Good Times TV show and the main character, Jimmie Walker. Our BBQ, as JJ would say, is DY-NO-MITE!!!
The roots of the team trace back to several fraternity brothers from Memphis State University, although now only a few of those original members remain. We typically operate with about 13-15 “members” each year, and are always looking for more interested folks to join us.
